About the Role: This Project Designer is essential within the design department, serving as a key player while beginning to develop leadership skills. You will have the opportunity to mentor incoming designers while receiving guidance from Senior Project Designers, building a well-rounded skillset. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are crucial to success in this role. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the design studio to achieve project goals, contributing creative ideas and solutions.
  • Initiate and create digital color boards for presentations, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Develop design narratives based on thorough research and analysis, guiding project direction.
  • Select FF E that meets project parameters, considering aesthetics, functionality, and budget.
  • Research new vendors and products to ensure design solutions are unique and innovative.
  • Build digital design presentations for client and brand review, showcasing project vision and concepts.
  • Prepare design presentations, including rendered plans, elevations, and supporting 3D studies.
  • Utilize CAD standards to prepare construction documents, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and finish plans.
  • Attend on-site project meetings, participating in box reviews and punch reviews, and issuing meeting notes to the team.
  • Direct installers confidently and competently during project installations as required.
  • Write FF E Specifications for review by Senior Project Designers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Produce ID drawing sets with the team, contributing to project documentation and coordination.
  • Perform quality control on work and work of designers, maintaining high standards of excellence.
  • Coordinate design solutions with vendors and project consultants, ensuring seamless integration and implementation.
  • Represent the team on project site visits and installations, providing support and expertise as needed.
  • Assist in meeting follow-up details and documentation, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
  • Prepare design solutions that comply with local building codes and ADA guidelines, prioritizing safety and accessibility.
  • Ensure adherence to correct forms and procedures throughout the design process, maintaining consistency and accuracy.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit for precise drafting and modeling.
  • Experience with SketchUp, including the Enscape plug-in, for 3D visualization.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop for creating captivating design presentations.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel, for document creation and organization.
  • Ability to write detailed FF E specifications with clarity and accuracy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in fine arts: Interior Design or related field.
  • Associate Degree in Interior Design considered based on professional experience.
  • 5-8 years of professional experience, with single-family design experience required.
