Design & Assembly Concepts is Hiring a CNC Operator Near Leander, TX

DAC is a vertically integrated company that has mechanical design, electrical design, controls, manufacturing and assembly all under one roof. DAC develops systems for many different industries including oil & gas, electronics, automotive, medical, food, solar, and sporting goods.

Job Description:

In this position you will be responsible for cutting stock, setting up of parts and fixtures, and loading tools in CNC mills and lathe. Operators work from setup sheets and shop drawings to load required tools, touch-off the tools, fixture the work piece and load the NC program. Operators measure and verify part dimensions are within the required tolerance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC Lathes and Mills with a high degree of competency. Including: setting up fixtures, clamping raw stock to be machined, loading and selecting tools from tool list.
  • Adjust machine controls and change tool settings in order to keep dimensions within specified tolerances.
  • Inspect parts to ensure they meet specification according to print.
  • Perform machine maintenance as needed.
  • Perform other machine shop duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Experience with general hand tools and basic measuring equipment.
  • Must have good math skills including the metric and standard systems.
  • Have general understanding of basic machine shop equipment and its safe operation.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts a plus.
  • Wire EDM and/or Water Jet operating experience a plus.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to learn and gain valuable experience operating water Jet cutting machine, CNC as well as manual mill and lathe, wire EDM as well as exposure to programming using MasterCam software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
