Desert Regional Medical Center is a 385-bed acute-care hospital classified as a stroke receiving center and level 2 trauma facility with an innovative, patient centered and evidence-based Rehabilitation Services Department. Our compassionate team provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute care rehabilitation, joint replacement & spinal surgery, neurosurgery, ICU, Telemetry, step-down care, skilled nursing, as well as outpatient therapy, hand and lymphedema clinics.

GENERAL DUTIES:To lead and direct all scheduling, and address issues in the department. Position also maintains a professional working relationship for internal and external customers.

These services further the vision of Desert Regional Medical Center to create unique environments, where patients, their families, doctors and staff come together to achieve longer and better lives in the fight against cancer.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES: • Improves and maintains positive customer service relations.• Leads and directs schedulers in Medical Oncology Department.• Organizes and develops schedule according to parameters established for MD visits and treatments.• Functions as liaison between Medical Oncology and Billing Departments to ensure charges for services rendered are correct and submitted in a timely manner. • Assists manager on scheduling department issues and options.• Trains new employees on multiple information systems and upgrades.• Schedules, tracks and assists patients to facilitate their needs.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Required: • Complies with regulatory requirements (i.e. TJC) appropriate for position

• 2 years of medical office experience• Associates Degree required• Windows and medical information system knowledge

Preferred: Experience in healthcare a plus

Pay Range: $18.17 - $27.25 hourly

Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
