Desert Oasis Healthcare is Hiring a Priority Care Clinic Coordination Specialist Near Palm Springs, CA
- Properly distinguishes between HMO, PPO and other insurance types and coordinates care based on insurance type.
- Process referrals within specified deadlines and proactively searches for relevant supporting documentation according to utilization review policies.
- Utilize company programs and other available resources to obtain required information for follow up appointments and referrals.
- Assist with facilitating follow up appointments with patient Primary Care Physician (PCP) and/or specialist.
- Process daily denials and deferrals and document the information in the electronic medical record (EMR) and TRAXit. Update order Management, as needed.
- Assist patients with referral status inquiries and appointments.
- Update patient care coordination status in EMR and TRAXit with less than 2% error rate.
- Collaborate with PCC staff and other clinics to facilitate patient care coordination.
- Assist providers with patient care such as, but not limited to: obtaining vitals, height, weight, dressing changes, etc., as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent. Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program. Certified Medical Assistant certificate required within 60 days of hire.
- 7 years of recent medical assistant experience.
- Knowledge of referral process and InterQual/Milliman CPT codes.
- Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with individuals within all levels of the organization and others.
- Ability to manage time effective and prioritize tasks to meet established deadlines.
- Strong clinical service integration skills.
- BLS required.
- At the discretion of DOHC/FHC management, this position has the potential to be a full or hybrid telecommuting position.
