Our practice is devoted to full-service medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. We provide a variety of treatments for skin care concerns and diseases such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, rashes, and skin cancer.

Dermatology Associates is currently looking for a Medical Assistant to join our office! This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, in a fast-paced work environment. You will work closely with our Nurse Practitioner providing patient care and assisting in numerous procedures throughout the day. We are a growing privately-owned practice. Services provided by the CMA /RMA will include but are not limited to, accompanying the provider into patient examination rooms in order to: assist with procedures, documentation of office visits, and patient/family education. Providing care utilizing established principles and ethical standards, as well as policies and procedures.

WHAT IS THIS POSITION RESPONSIBLE FOR?

• Accurate, timely documentation of patient encounters in EMR, including but not limited to, documentation of patient history, physical exams, diagnostic findings, lab, and test results, problem lists, allergies, medications, diagnoses, progress notes, after-visit summaries/ patient education, prescriptions, and referrals.
• Dispose of contaminated supplies; clean, sterilize and prepare examination rooms; clean and sterilize instruments.
• Administer patient injections as directed; administer medication as directed; remove sutures, change dressings, and bandages; authorize drug refills as directed.
• Check inventory of medical supplies and materials for ordering.
• Patient Advocate/Liaison: Serves as a professional nursing link between patient and medical provider, pharmacist, and other care providers.
• The potential for laser training and expanding with the cosmetic scope of the practice.

Physical Demands:

• A significant amount of walking and assisting patients, some heavy lifting may be required (up to 50 lbs.); data entry (typing).
