DERBY RECREATION COMMISSION is Hiring an Archery Instructor (PT) Near Derby, KS

Position: Archery Instructor

Location: Derby Recreation Center

Start Date: Negotiable, February – March 2024 timeframe

Job Schedule: Able to teach two evenings per week (max two hours/evening) for three consecutive weeks during each quarterly program session; specific days / dates negotiable, weekday evenings preferred.

Compensation: $15-20/hour, depending on qualifications

Responsibilities:

Teach Basic Archery Skills: Instruct participants on equipment used, parts and functions of the bow and arrow, the fundamentals of archery, safety, proper form, aiming, and shooting techniques.
Course Development: Develop a comprehensive archery course curriculum for a 3-week program, focusing on skill progression and ensuring an engaging learning experience.
Class Documentation: Keep detailed records of class participation, individual progress, and any notable achievements. Provide feedback to participants to enhance their skills.
Experience Required: Previous experience as an archery instructor is essential. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse age groups are a must.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and guidelines to create a secure learning environment for all participants.

Qualifications:

Experience in archery is essential
Previous formal instruction experience not required
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to motivate and inspire participants
First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
