Department of Transportation is Hiring an ASSOCIATE GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAM ANALYST Near San Joaquin, CA

Under the general direction of the Chief, Facility Operations Branch, the Facility and Space Coordinator performs complex technical and analytical work in the areas of space coordination, planning, and facilities management. The incumbent will also serve as the liaison for the district's telework program and steer sustainable objectives for District Office facilities.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Associate Governmental Program Analyst Exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g. transfer, permissive reinstatement or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. Working Conditions

This position is located in Stockton, San Joaquin County.

Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment.

While in the office, incumbent works in front a single or dual-monitor computer system under artificial lighting in an office building. Due to periodic problems with heating and air conditioning, the building temperature may fluctuate. Long periods of working in a sitting or standing position, and walking to collaborate with other areas may be required. Must be able to work with a keyboard and focus on complex tasks for long periods of time. Overtime and weekend work, as well as travel may be required.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Describe your involvement with facilities and space coordination. Please also describe the types of challenges routinely addressed and your approach to resolve those matters.
Describe your experience building professional relationships outside your typical work team or work group, both inside and outside your organization.
Describe your approach to project management with short and overlapping timelines and provide an example of a project in which you were involved with planning and/or implementing.
