Summary You will serve as a Postal Operations Specialist for NAVSUP FLC SIG GF. Duties * You will serve as a senior analyst and subject matter expert assisting in managing the postal program. * You will develop, maintain and continually update training material used in the execution of the overall postal mission. * You will provide guidance on procedures designed for special category mail, and ensure proper interpretation to preclude mishandling and potential compromise of information. * You will ensure the proper use of official mail resources by establishing and maintaining controls on postal/mail expenditures. * You will analyze the use of postage and initiates procedures for the most cost effective usage of mail resources. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Must be a US Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport. May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations. * Must be determined suitable for federal employment. * Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. * New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Overseeing the timely receipt, proper distribution and dispatch of US Mail and providing support for other postal services such operations, inspections and policy recommendations to ensure agencies comply with postal regulations. The work involves physical exertion (lifting up to 70 lbs with the assistance from co-workers or machines) which may be necessary while conducting postal inspections, reviewing daily workloads for mail on hand ready for dispatch on truck/AMC/port visit. Long periods of standing, bending, and stooping required while conducting daily correspondence and administrative audits of records, cash and other accountable equipment in an industrial, storage, or comparable work area.
