CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

***************************** DUTIES ****************************************

  • You will inspect and operate potable water systems, pumping stations, and their associated controls to adjust the taste, odor, physical, chemical, or bacteriological content of water.
  • You will conduct daily operation and operational inspections of sewage lift and pumping stations to verify operation readiness.
  • You will perform preventative maintenance for sewage lift, pumping stations, and other sanitary sewage commodity system equipment to maintain operational reliability.
  • You will monitor operation of an oil water separator for ground water pump and treatment facility.
  • You will clean and unstop sewer lines throughout a plant to prevent blockages

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Ability to do the work without more than normal supervision:

Ability to do the work of a Utilities Systems Operator without more than normal supervision as demonstrated by:

1) Conducts daily operation and operation maintenance of sewage lift and pumping stations;

2) Reads system maps, locate valves, operate valves and pumps, and handle chemical agents;

3) Controls the flow of water from various pumping stations, increasing or decreasing according to stations demands.
