Department of the Army is Hiring a Security Specialist with Security Clearance Near Austin, TX

Duties * This is a Developmental Position to allow for progression to the Full Performance Level (FPL) GG-13 level classified at less than the FPL for recruitment and training purposes. * This career ladder position, selectee will receive tailored instruction, guidance, training and supervision designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful performance at full performance level, or target position. * Serve as a Security Specialist performing security management functions in Personnel Security (PERSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), Physical Security (PHYSEC) and Security Education Training and Awareness (SETA). * Responsible for the development, planning, oversight, administration, management, implementation, and enforcement within the organization of one or more of the DCIPS intelligence-related security disciplines assigned to AFC. * Provide security support for one or more security programs as prescribed above defined by appropriate security regulations. * Conduct analyses to identify program issues and support the commander's risk mitigation actions in support of all protection programs. Advise on recommended policy or procedural changes. * Participate in the Command Inspection Program by conducting internal audits using the checklist provided in the appendix of each Army Security Regulation. * Record findings and notify leadership of any program vulnerabilities or shortfalls that require action. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI). * In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. * Two year trial/probationary period may be required. * Must be able to obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within the first two years of employment. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document . To qualify, applicants must have one year or more of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level. Specialized experience is defined as experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of information security program administration as demonstrated by experience assisting in the development, implementation, and management of policies, procedures and methods to prevent the compromise of classified defense information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-07). PLEASE NOTE: Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series. OR Education: Successfully completed two full years of graduate level education leading to a master's degree (36 semester hours) in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Security Management, Economics, etc. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond your first 18 semester hours by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: * Classification Management

* Technical Competence Full performance grade level of this position is GG-13. This position will be filled at the GG-09 grade level. Selectee has non-competitive promotion potential to the full performance grade level of GG-13. Non-competitive promotion to intervening and full performance level is based on completion of one year of successful performance in the professional work category and is at the discretion of supervisor.
