In consultation with the Associate Dean for Finance, the Associate Director is responsible for the oversight and management of WCLs business operations. . The position prepares special analyses, strategic recommendations and works on special projects regarding all WCL business activities, including core operations, development and gift operations, including gift agreement analysis, auxiliary business operations, and grant operations. The position makes proactive recommendations to the Associate Dean of Finance about potential compliance issues. The incumbent will also prepare regular financial reports, analysis, and recommendations for all non-tuition revenue functions to the Associate Dean of Finance. The incumbent implements all recommendations after consultation with the Associate Dean of Finance by working with WCL senior staff to improve operations, reduce expenses, and grow revenues. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. In consultation with the Associate Dean of Finance, leads the WCL internal financial review and approval process for new business opportunities (i.e., facilities rentals, conference hosting, event sponsorship, hybrid program proposals, etc.) and serves as point of contact with all campus offices to facilitate University approval where required. This position leads the implementation of new opportunities by serving as the lead for related contract negotiations on behalf of WCL and providing best practice, benchmarks and business requirement guidance to all stakeholders. Prepares analyses, strategic recommendations and works on special projects regarding all WCL business activities, including core operations, development and gift operations, including gift agreement analysis, auxiliary business operations, and grant operations.

In consultation with the Associate Dean of Finance, the position oversees and manages WCL business operations, including new initiatives. Position requires a continual review of business standards and systems, with analysis of how to improve services to make them better for the WCL community. Incumbent evaluates operational processes and recommends policies and procedures when applicable to streamline and improve overall processes and alignment with institution mission. This position works with relevant WCL offices. to oversee auxiliary operations (i.e., catering, housekeeping, foodservice, AUPD, grounds).

The position serves as the lead contact for all procurement related activities. . This position is responsible for the financial oversight of the following contracted services: food service, vending, housekeeping, credit card merchant operations, remote check processing operations, and all other procurement. The position works with departments to identify business requirements and recommends appropriate procurement options (i.e. RFP, RFQ, MOU, PSA). The position leads vendor contract negotiation, including contract drafting where required, and works with University (i.e., Procurement, General Counsel, Housing and Dining) and WCL stakeholders to balance department needs with budgetary parameters and increase efficient resource use whenever possible.

The position manages the grant and contract processes of WCL by providing exceptional customer service support to WCL Principal Investigators (staff and faculty) who are interested in or have obtained external grant funding. The incumbent supervises one full time employee, Sr. Grant and Contract Manager, who is responsible for providing pre & post award services to the WCL Community. The position works with the Sr. Grant and Contract Manager to ensure compliance with relevant policies, and relevant federal regulations. The position approves budget and proposal materials in Cayuse SP based upon analysis provided by the Sr. Grant and Contract Manager and makes recommendations to PIs and project staff on best structure for proposals to achieve law school objectives. The position acts as the WCL representative for campus partner offices (OSP, GCA, VPUG, etc.) for grant matters.

Cultivates and supervises one full time staff Grant and Contract Manager, including hiring, onboarding, and training. Provides coaching and feedback and evaluates performance..

The Position prepares and conducts at least three business operation trainings per year for the WCL community to address compliance with or new implementation of University (Workday) and WCL business processes. Additionally, the position works in conjunction with other Finance staff to address issues and support all WCL staff and students as a resource on University policies and procedures. The position also manages training of part time staff and faculty on relevant University policies and procedures. Competencies: Developing Plans.

8-10 years of relevant experience. Preferred Education and Experience: Juris Doctor or equivalent.

Supervise a full time position-Senior Grant and Contract Manager. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 35 hours per week. Salary Range: $108,000 - $110,000, commensurate with experience. Travel Required: Occasional conference travel. Additional Eligibility Qualifications: The position requires a solid understanding of financial and operational management, along with the ability to apply best practices to a variety of business functions and activities.

Computer literacy in spreadsheets and financial applications is essential.

Highly developed interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication abilities; substantial problem solving skills are required.

Organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, flexibility, adaptability, ability to work well in groups are essential.

Ability to exercise independent judgment in daily operations is necessary.
