The Float Animal Care Specialist advances Denver Zoo’s mission and goals by providing the safe exhibition, handling, feeding, and husbandry of animal species at the Zoo. The Float Zookeeper role supports numerous animal care teams with routine husbandry and area projects. They will be trained in 3 – 4 animal areas throughout the zoo, but could be asked to provide support in all of the Animal Care departments as needed. The Float Animal Care Specialist could work in multiple areas per week or could be assigned to one area for extended periods to support staffing shortages. The ability to adapt to dynamic environments and to work independently and as part of a team will be crucial for success.

Technical/Professional Requirements & Qualifications:
A total of 6 years' combined experience between education AND zookeeper experience in the care, feeding, and handling of a variety of exotic animals in an AZA-accredited institution

Range for this position is $22.83-$27.97 (hourly).
