Denver Scholarship Foundation is Hiring a Marketing and Communications Summer Intern Near Denver, CO

Description
The full-time summer marketing and communications intern will work closely with experienced professionals in marketing, communications, and graphic design who are fellow graduates from Colorado-area colleges to assist in the day-to-day aspects of fulfilling the Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF) mission. The ideal candidate is a junior or senior studying marketing, communications, public relations, creative writing or business, and is interested in community outreach within the nonprofit sector. Applicants who are a current DSF Scholar is a plus. The full-time summer internship will consist of 30-40 hours per week for three months from June - August and is fully onsite position located at the downtown Denver office.
You'll have the opportunity to grow your talents and develop the experience and successful track record needed to build your resume and advance your future career in the fields of digital marketing, communications, and social media. You can expect to develop confidence and marketable skills by engaging in or assisting with activities such as copywriting, social media strategy and execution, digital marketing, speaking to multiple target audiences including donors, marketing research, and graphic design. You will learn to translate our mission and core values into ideas and executable projects to engage online audiences and produce measurable results in expanding our community.
Some day-to-day activities could include the following:
  • Support with managing social media efforts including scheduling posts, soliciting content from high school students, DSF Scholars, and DSF staff, collaborating on storytelling efforts, and tracking social media metrics
  • Support with updating the DSF website, publishing stories, etc.
  • Thought partnership and support on DSF Scholar specific content, such as events, flyers, swag, and other marketing materials
  • Support with creating digital and video assets through Canva

Requirements
Qualifications include excellent written and oral communication skills, a firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Proficiency in WordPress, video editing, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. The perfect candidate is self-motivated, has good organizational skills, is detail-oriented, and has the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
