Essential Functions and Objectives:

Responsible for implementing all components of the Denver Youth Employment Program (DYEP) programming at school sites and throughout the Denver community. Prepares high school students for sustainable employment or connection with post-secondary options while supporting them through their last year of high school to meet graduation requirements. Expands student and family access to a menu of wrap around services in collaboration with DPS FACE Community Hubs.
  • Works collaboratively with department staff to implement systems to serve families with high quality customer service and individualized support for family and student success.
  • Develops and manages relationships with community employers and routinely checks-in with employers to provide support and monitoring of work experiences to ensure that youth are meeting the conditions to successfully complete work experiences; participates in network meetings, department meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance learning, bridge communication, understand expectations and collaborate with colleagues to achieve the program mission.
  • Provides program support for multigeneration services, supports youth in reaching high school graduation, social emotional support and mentoring, engages students in career exploration with the goal of long-term sustainable employment, and/or access to post-secondary programs.
  • Supports and creates systems for quality control aligned with grant compliance and the daily operations for programs; creates and maintains physical and electronic files that reflect best-practices and meet strict program compliance.
  • Works collaboratively to establish outcomes and design strategy to meet established outcomes.
  • Provides direct services through the recruitment and enrollment of youth, develops and maintains partnership with community agencies and local businesses, provides ongoing direct case management support.
  • Demonstrates understanding of program criteria by implementing effective recruitment strategies that ensure that qualifying youth have access to the program; seeks out professional development opportunities for team members and collaborative opportunities with community agencies that enhance service delivery.
  • Creates opportunities to build positive relationships with students and District families by developing and leveraging partnerships with nonprofits, faith communities, neighborhoods, businesses, philanthropic groups to increase academic achievement and reduce student dropout rates; works collaboratively to build connections and develop clear strategy on how programs fill service gaps.

K
nowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in communities with at-risk youth and/or case management.
  • Knowledge with Google Suite or Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, bilingual preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines.
  • The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance.
  • Work collaboratively with others on a team.
  • Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work some weekend and evening events.

E
ducation Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
