Essential Functions and Objectives:
  • The Manager of Community Outreach will report directly to the Executive Principal. The Manager of Community Outreach will manage a team of coordinators to build external partnerships and manage fundraising efforts for the Beacon Network. Accountability will be to the UIP and Beacon Innovation Plan.
  • Model the DPS Shared Core values of students first, equity, integrity, accountability, and collaboration when partnering with school leaders and operations staff to deliver support to schools.
  • Create and implement development and fundraising vision for Beacon Network Schools.
  • Establish administrative and clerical processes that make the school office both an efficient and receptive environment for students, staff, parents and members of the community. Maintain social media websites with up to date school events to increase positive exposure to the community. Seek out and manage partnerships with donors and perform event management responsibilities for donor events.
  • Establishes a welcoming and friendly environment for receiving staff, families, students and community.
  • Work in conjunction with school administration in scheduling and coordination of external communications to include community relations, school events, media releases, and requests for community based assistance and school district announcements. Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of operations, fundraising, or community engagement/organizing in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly (both written and oral).
  • Ability and willingness to work with a diverse student and adult population.
  • Strong work ethic and growth mindset with the capacity to motivate oneself and others towards high levels of achievement and success in working in a team.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and completing multiple projects (full life-cycle project planning and implementation
  • Strong organizational and analytic skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to motivate and influence others
  • Enthusiasm, professionalism, and positivity to classrooms and our adult community.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DPS Human Resource and other departmental policies.

  • Bachelor's Degree
