Emergency Department is a fast-paced, high acuity unit providing high-quality adult emergency care. Denver Health Emergency Department is one of the nation's leading Level I Trauma Centers, with one of the highest survival rates in the country for the most severe injuries.
Our facility provides high-quality medical and trauma care where nurses will find their skill set is continually growing.
Our ED consists of 57 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio is1 : 3-4, accommodating for critical patients. Additional support staff include emergency medical technicians (EMT), phlebotomists, EKG technicians, in-person interpreters and social workers.
Job Summary
Under direct supervision of the RN APP and / or physician, provides patient care in accordance with treatment plans. Communicates changes in patient conditions within the scope of practice to RN.
Collaborates with the RN and other members of the healthcare team. Participates in patient care activities.
Essential Functions :
Obtains vital signs and differentiates normal from abnormal findings. Reports abnormal values or conditions to the RN. (EX.
Abnormal VS, bleeding, safety concerns, family issues. (20%)
and includes access to the pneumatic tube system to transport items, including blood products and medications, to and from the tube and the desired location. (15%)
Under direct supervision of the RN and as delegated by the physician, implements care based on prioritized patient needs, assists with the plan of care with measurable outcome and goals for the patient / family, and participates in the discharge planning process. (20%)

High School Diploma or GED Required
