Description

Job Summary: The Denver Christian Middle School Athletics Coach is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing middle school students in various sports and physical activities. The coach will work to provide a safe, supportive, and challenging environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. The coach will also work with school administrators, parents, and other stakeholders to support the athletics program and ensure compliance with school policies and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct practices and games for one or more middle school sports teams.
• Teach fundamental skills and strategies to athletes, focusing on individual development and team play.
• Evaluate the performance of each athlete and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
• Develop and implement team rules, expectations, and consequences that promote discipline, respect, and sportsmanship.
• Ensure the safety of all athletes by adhering to proper techniques, equipment usage, and injury prevention protocols.
• Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, school administrators, and other coaches to provide updates on team progress and address concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of team and individual performance, attendance, and other important information.
• Follow school policies and regulations regarding eligibility, behavior, and academic progress.
• Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and other school-related events as required.
• Serve as a positive role model by exemplifying Christian values and maintaining a high level of integrity.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to athletes to foster their personal and spiritual growth.

Working Conditions: The Denver Christian Middle School Athletics Coach will work primarily on school grounds and will be required to travel to games and events off-campus. The coach will work approximately 10-18 hours a week during the sports season. The coach may be required to work occasional weekends and evenings, depending on the sports schedule. The coach will report directly to the school's athletic director.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Must have a strong Christian faith and be committed to Christian values and principles.
• Minimum of 2 years of coaching experience at the middle school level or higher. 
• Familiarity with Christian principles and values
• Knowledge and expertise of sports, including rules, strategies, and techniques.
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire athletes to achieve their full potential.
• Familiarity with equipment maintenance, injury prevention, and emergency procedures.
• Must be willing to undergo a background check and comply with all school policies and regulations.
