Denton County MHMR Center is Hiring a Program Manager Adult Mental Health - Denton Near Denton, Tx

Under direction of the Director of Mental Health Services and within federal, state and local guidelines performs routine administrative and supervisory program work. Work involves assisting in establishing program goals and objectives; assisting in developing program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations; assisting in developing schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving program goals; and assisting in evaluating program activities. Supervises the work of others.

This position is responsible for overseeing the care of Adult Mental Health consumers being served by the MH Case Management team at the Center's Denton Outpatient Clinic (DOPC) location. This position is responsible for facilitating training and meetings internally and within the Center in an organized productive manner. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Education, Training and Experience (including licensure and certification)

Bachelor's degree in a human services field, 6 months supervisory experience preferred. At least 1 year experience in mental health required. Must qualify as a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional). Prefer some graduate level education. Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts preferred.

REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE OR OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • All job specific training must be completed within 30 days of hire.
  • Must maintain a valid Texas driver's license, auto liability insurance and a driving record acceptable to the Centers insurance requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to the program area; of public administration and management techniques; of statistical analysis processes; of budget processes; of research techniques; of training and marketing techniques; and of program management processes and techniques.
    • Knowledge of Texas Administrative Code (TAC)
  • Skill in identifying measures or indicators of program and staff performance and in operating a computer and applicable software.
  • Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; to establish goals and objectives; to devise solutions to administrative problems; to develop, evaluate, and interpret administrative policies and procedures; and to supervise the work of others.
  • Understanding and practice of Trauma Informed Care principles.

Essential Duties

1. Intervenes verbally and physically when necessary to prevent injury to individuals and employees; provides appropriate first aid care to individual and employees who are injured or ill.

2. Develops and implements sound clinical programs.

3. Maintains a system that maximizes revenue; completes all required documentation; develops reports and participates in unit meetings; develops and enforces policies and procedures specific to the programs.

4. Acts as liaison on the case management aspects of the program with providers of services and other agencies that provide mental health care.

5. Posts vacant positions and fills in compliance with Center procedures and timelines.

6. Provides individual written supervision to the staff supervised by the position, as needed, but at least monthly for each staff supervised. 

  • Provides guidance for outstanding needs of staff and contractors (i.e. reviews documentation for accuracy and content or provide input); communicates effectively with staff the information that is needed for supervisors to effectively manage their teams and programs.
  • 7. Acts as backup PASRR evaluator in absence of primary PASRR evaluator.
    Maintains job knowledge necessary to complete all assigned tasks of PASRR evaluator, as needed; including knowledge of policies and procedures related to PASRR services.

8. Ensures training is up to date.

9. Completes performance evaluations within required timeframes and provides accurate depiction on employee's performance and outline goals for improvement if needed.

10. Ensures employees comply with education and training requirements, 100% compliance.

11. Ensures that employees are trained to perform their jobs and that various requirements of the position are communicated to the employee.

12. Facilitates trainings for Center staff as needed.

Completes all other duties as assigned.
