Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional dental care to our patients. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment where your skills and expertise will be valued.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform dental receptionist duties, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling insurance claims
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality
- Utilize dental software systems (such as CAD and Epic) for accurate record keeping
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assisting program preferred
- X-Ray certification required
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a related role is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and medical coding
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Proficient in using dental software systems (CAD, Epic, etc.)
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient privacy
