Job DescriptionJob Title: CMM / LASER PROGRAMMEREmployment Status: Full-Time Department: QualityPosition Reports To: Quality ManagerSummary Description:Ensure CMM is properly programmed so that the product does not fall short of the quality standards required by the customer. Essential Functions:
Develop and program CMM Programs using computers or company’s part specifications in an accurate, timely and efficient manner using Polyworks
Determine part inspection requirements from customer’s blueprint
Create inspection-path programs for fixed type CMM
Insure the part-inspection programs are consistent with part number and revision level
Administer and/or edit previously created programs
Operate and quality any type of CMM equipment as required, including Laser Scanning processes
Verify the operator’s set-up is suitable, the machine is calibrated and is operational
Daily operation of computer-programming hardware and software systems
Responsible for ensuring that AS9000, ISO 9001, and QS9000 are implemented and adhered to in your area
Analyze and troubleshoot fixed-type machine setups and inspection paths
Interact with suppliers for the faults encounter or enhancement of program
Interact with customers and team members, both in person and via email
Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned
Skills or Experience Required:Must have High School diploma or GED and Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four (4)-year college or university; or one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in quality inspection is preferred. Must have strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work with others towards the resolution of problems. Experience in programming of CMM software and calibration of products is a must. Polyworks and PCDMIS.Other Position Demands or Requirements:LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to -
Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and/or government regulations
Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
Proficient in reading/interpreting engineering drawings (blueprints)
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must have the ability to -
Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
REASONING SKILLS: Must have the ability to -
Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
