REPORTS TO: Project Manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required. Must also have completed a minimum of 100 to 300 hours of continuing coursework in the construction industry.

Experience:

Minimum ten years experience in the construction industry. Previously a Superintendent I for at least two years with a proven track record of commitment to the company’s vision and mission and excellent productivity throughout career. Has successfully completed projects up to $5 million as the Project Superintendent. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), company policies, procedures and standards. Excellent communication, supervisory and planning skills required.

Physical Demand/Working Condition:

Physical requirements are light to moderate. Work is accomplished through normal sitting, standing and walking. Works in office and field environment which requires normal sensory levels along with walking, bending, stooping, lifting above the hand, grasping with both hands and lifting up to 50 pounds. Continuous exposure to outdoor elements.

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides overall field management and administration to field employees, subcontractors and suppliers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Oversees total project field effort to ensure the highest quality, appropriate personnel, budget and schedule are met.
2. Ensure all company, department, and technical policies, procedures, standards, etc. are adhered to. Interpret policies as required.
3. Assists with implementation and interpretation of safety programs. Assists in the development of supervision training programs.
4. Schedules, coordinates and supervises employees, subcontractors and all construction equipment on assigned project(s). 
5. Initiates work schedules for maximum productivity of work.
6. Reviews drawings and specifications routinely.
7. Ensures subcontractors and suppliers are complying to specifications and codes.
8. Documents changes made by the architect/owner and gets approval from project manager on a timely basis.
9. Schedules all inspections and coordinates testing as required.
10. Acts as the main safety representative on assigned projects.
11. Reports all accidents and initiates first-report paperwork.
12. Attend company training/seminars as required by supervisor.
13. Assists Project Manager in development of the construction schedule.
14. Solicits potential future employees through contacts in the industry.
15. Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

OTHER:

1. Reviews construction schedule, Pay Requests and job cost reports with Project Manager.
2. Sets up job trailer including; temporary power, telephone, toilet, dumpster and water.
3. Schedules materials and suppliers.
4. Reports the need for a change in manpower requirements in complying with established schedules.
5. Performs initial screening for prospective field employees when requested by the Chief Operating Officer.
