JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Controller, the Accounting Intern will support the accounting department with a variety of administrative and entry level accounting tasks This a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and to apply the concepts you have learned in the classroom. This internship is a paid position, available immediately and may last up to 6 months. This is not a remote position and requires work in the office.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must have completed introductory accounting courses and have a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.
• Strong computer skills utilizing Word and Excel.
• Must be detailed and organized with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to successfully complete the company’s pre-employment process including a criminal background check, drug test and post-offer basic physical.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Recent graduates who have completed their degree in one of the above fields are also eligible to apply.
• Experience using Sage 100 software.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform general accounting and administrative duties including research, filing, data entry, and record keeping.
• Assist with accounting entries.
• Support month-end closing processes.
• Assist with reconciliations and invoice handling.
• Contribute to ad hoc accounting projects as needed.
