About this position:

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct incoming, startup, in-process, last part, and final inspection of production runs
  • Use Demgy inspection equipment (Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gages, Gage Pins, Thread Gages, Touch Probe and Optical CMM, Comparator, Color Spectrophotometer, Moisture Analyzer, Melt Flow Meter) to determine product conformance
  • Monitor inspection activities of production personnel
  • Advise personnel on inspection and how to inspect parts when needed
  • Flag Visual Instruction discrepancies to Engineering in a timely manner (so that they can be corrected before the next production run)
  • Complete 100% inspection of lots as needed
  • Participate in Shift Hand Off Meetings at beginning and/or end of shift to facilitate communication and cooperation between shifts
  • Monitor non-conforming product and issue suspect material reports (SMDR's) as needed
  • Compile statistical data as required
  • Document item movements
  • Identify and implement ways to reduce rework and scrap rates

Education and Job Skill Requirements

  • Minimum Education requirement: High School Diploma or Associate's degree
  • Proven skills in completing dimensional and visual inspections on parts.
  • Familiarity with quality system techniques and methods, including ISO and SPC
  • Experience in performing in-process and final inspections
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Computer skills (Windows, Excel, SPC Software)
  • Proficient written and verbal communication ability
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Friendly, professional manner

Equipment Skill Requirements

  • Hand Tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gages, Gage Pins, Thread Gages)
  • Touch Probe and Optical CMM
  • Comparator
  • Color Spectrophotometer
  • Moisture Analyzer

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for an entire shift (8-10 hours / day)
  • No restrictions on twisting and bending (to move product)
  • Regular use of hands (100% of time)
  • Ability to work in a shop environment - frequent exposure to loud noises, dust, solvents, and oils
  • Vision 20/20 with or without correction.
    • Vision Screening at Demgy-designated clinic (Titmus) prior to hire, and every two years thereafter
  • Limited reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling and crouching
