DEMA Engineering Company is Hiring a Manufacturing Engineer Near Gerald, MO

DEMA Engineering Co. has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our Gerald Industries Division located in Gerald, MO. This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures involved in manufacturing engineering processes, including researching automation techniques to maximize the efficiency of production lines and planning factory layouts that optimize how products are made across multiple manufacturing sites. This position will report to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Study material and workflow analysis, production, and machine requirements.
  • Define, develop, and evaluate manufacturing processes based on criteria such as safety, quality, and capacity, with an understanding of process capability requirements and Lean disciplines.
  • Develop, qualify, and maintain automated and manual production systems which may include robot programming, vibratory feeders, conveyors, and other motion controls.
  • Optimize facility layouts, productions lines, machine operations, and network performance.
  • Design and install equipment and machinery including work holding and tooling.
  • Responsible for Design for Manufacture and Assembly product inputs, process development to support new product launches.
  • Find ways to reduce costs, improve productivity, while maximizing quality.
  • Develop process flows, time standards, standard work, and work instructions.
  • Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.

Overall Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, or three to five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Engineering degree preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing experience required; Lean or Six Sigma certification a plus.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, with an emphasis in manual and automated assembly practices.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques.
  • Well-versed in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD or SolidWorks, Microsoft 365).
  • Proven project management, problem solving, process analysis, and improving business practice skills.
  • Teamwork and effective communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to prioritize duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to occasionally work late shifts.
