POSITION SUMMARY:
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Dem-Con Metal Recycling Blaine location to ensure execution of operational, safety and compliance standards. In addition, the role leads the company’s customer service and sales goals for Metal Recycling and ensures consistency of sales between both locations. The General Manager will provide day-to-day leadership of the Blaine location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Oversee the day-to-day operations of a Dem-Con Metal Recycling Blaine location
· Manage staff, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management
· Execute effective safety and accident prevention programs to ensure all reasonable actions are taken to prevent accidents and injuries
· Ensure compliance with operating permits and all government, regulatory and company requirements
· Manage and enforce company policies and procedures
· Coordinate buy and sell side pricing for Metal locations
· Ensure consistency in pricing execution and review Scrap Right Transactions to ensure pricing set appropriately
· Work with existing and prospective customers to ensure good customer service and secure new metal streams
· Maintain relationships with end markets to ensure to maximize material pricing. Set general direction of material sales at both locations
· Monitor current Inventory levels and ensure to communicate and coordinate outbound transportation to established end markets
· Work with Maintenance Department and outside maintenance vendors to ensure execution in company maintenance programs
· Operate equipment when needed and ensure compliance on equipment inspections
· Execute tasks to ensure site grounds maintenance meet company standards
· Remain up to date on current and future facility operations issues
· Assist with buying metal and general yard operations
· Develop new and existing employees to create an organization with industry leading talent
· Interact with customers to resolve any customer service or safety concerns
· Help to create an environment that promotes the Company’s core values and motivates employees toward actions that meets the company’s policies, goals, and strategies
· Provide consistent decision making
· Provide timely follow-through of company initiatives or delegated tasks
· Establish productivity goals where needed; ensure adherence to operating standards; and manage labor hours
· Communicate with co-workers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner
· Perform other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or GED
· 3 years in progressively responsible leadership roles, preferably with service industry experience or previous experience in metal recycling industry
· May be required to obtain various certifications related to assigned area of responsibility
