Manufacturing Floor Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Floor Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of our building products manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient and safe management of inventory, personnel, and equipment. This role requires a proactive leader with strong organizational skills and experience in warehouse management within the manufacturing sector, preferably steel products.

Key Responsibilities:

-Operational Management:

- Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse and manufacturing staff.

- Ensure all machines have backup coils nearby to ensure timely production and limit time of down time between setups of old to new coils.

- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory through regular audits and cycle counts.

- Implement and maintain warehouse best practices and procedures.

Team Leadership:

- Train, mentor, and motivate manufacturing and warehouse employees.

- Schedule and manage staffing levels to meet operational needs.

- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

- Ensure all staff are busy and not walking around. Also, ensure all staff are starting at of each shift and busy throughout day.

Safety and Compliance:

- Enforce safety standards and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

- Ensure compliance with company policies, local, state, and federal regulations.

- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.

Equipment Management:

- Oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse equipment, including roll formers, brake presses, pinch presses, spot welders, forklifts, cranes and various other equipment throughout floor.

- Coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.

- Evaluate spare parts on hand to limit down time when machines break down.

Inventory Control:

- Monitor stock levels and reorder as necessary to meet production demands.

- Implement inventory control measures to minimize losses and optimize space utilization.

- Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to track and manage inventory.

Customer Service:

- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.

- Address and resolve any issues related to order discrepancies, damaged parts from production or delays.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably within the steel or manufacturing industry.

Skills and Competencies:

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to lift heavy objects and operate manufacturing equipment.
