One of our clients is seeking a long-term contract One on One Paraprofessiona to assist children with autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges.
CLIENT'S HOURS
* School hours
* Monday-Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm)
* $17.00HRLY
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
* Assist Teacher with the implementation of daily classroom routines.
* Maintain a safe and stimulating environment with consideration to positive child development.
* Provide students with goal-oriented support that fosters independence and the ability to display socially acceptable behaviors in the school environment.
* Provide support and assistance to teachers by helping students with challenges outlined in their IEP assessment: ages 3-21 years old.
* Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student.
* Work one on one with students to ensure a safe, nurturing, and academically stimulating environment.
* Write case notes indicating students' daily progress .
* Assist with the provision of age-appropriate supervision to students.
* Work with students who may be aggressive or disruptive in class.
CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalency.
* Ability to complete and pass clearances: FBI, Child Abuse (ACT 126), and Criminal.
* Must be able to produce current medical/health documents including: physical examination, Tuberculosis/TB Skin Test, CPR, and First Aid Level 2 certification.
* Experience working with children with behavioral challenges, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and/or autism
* A passion for serving special needs and developmentally challenged children; and a willingness to have patience with and understand their needs
* Ability to work without direct supervision.
