delta constructors is Hiring a FCO Electrical Lead Near Prudhoe Bay, AK

Position Summary:

The Electrical FCO Lead reports directly to the FCO Supervisor and is responsible to plan, supervise, and perform implementation of FCO for large electrical projects. The incumbent will manage a team of FCO Technicians, ensuring all work is done in accordance with relevant local, state, federal and site specific rules and regulations while maintaining safety standards. The incumbent is responsible for providing on-site direction and leadership to subordinates in order to complete jobs within specific guidelines that include quality standards, time requirements, and budget considerations. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning, supervising and performing all phases of validating, testing, inspection and Functional Check Out of electrical systems and components
  • Conducting verification of termination torques, data sheets, cold checks of electrical, fire and gas and communication systems
  • Ensuring project remains under-budget and proper quality equipment and tools are utilized
  • Ensuring all test equipment is NIST Traceable and has a current calibration date
  • Reviewing and evaluating electrical FCO procedures and updating FCO folders by completing Blue lines, Red lines, and B check sheets
  • Evaluating employees progress
  • Training and mentoring new team members

Required Minimum Qualifications (Leads):

  • High School Diploma, or Equivalent
  • Valid Drivers License with clean driving record
  • Valid AK Electrical License, or have obtained reciprocity in the state of Alaska
  • Ten (10) years experience as FCO/Commissioning Technician in oilfield, preferred

Required Education, Training and Certificates:

  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) Training, required
  • H2S, or ability to obtain upon hire

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability and willingness to receive and follow direction
  • Ability to clearly communicate, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work safely, and recognize potential hazards
  • Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to recognize and respond to dangerous situations or emergencies such as high voltage systems, electrical fires, loose hot wires, broken power lines, etc.
  • Ability to diagnose system malfunction, locate cause of breakdown and correct the problem or recommend solution
  • Ability to set and balance priorities in order to complete projects on time
  • Ability to make decisions and recommend appropriate course of action in difficult situations
  • Ability to give direction and oversight to FCO Technicians
  • Ability to handle stress and possess positive trait even in difficult or challenging situations

Electrical FCO Specific KSA's:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, operational and mechanical systems including; installation, testing, maintenance and repair
  • Knowledge of proper electrical equipment use conductive to conditions and assignments including adherence to Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations

Visual Acuity: must be adequate to perform all required Job Description tasks in a safe manner. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and may require use of ear plugs on occasion. Work is usually done outside at a job site/field site that may have inclement weather conditions. The incumbent is exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles and equipment.
