The First Year Student Experience (FYE) Instructor is responsible for teaching University Seminar courses at Delaware State University. Under the supervision of the Coordinator for Student Transition, FYE instructors will teach the class based on the outlined curriculum, facilitate student engagement with mandatory first-year seminars, and monitor and identify students demonstrating “at-risk” academic performance, such as poor attendance and missed assignments. Student monitoring will be reported via the early alert system.
University Seminar is a one (1) credit/two (2) contact hour course meeting virtually/online and synchronously via Blackboard. FYE instructors must commit two hours per week per course for instruction, student engagement, and virtual office hours.
