Introduction
The Delaware Department of Agriculture Spotted Lanternfly Survey and Control program is a collaborative program between the Delaware Department of Agriculture (DDA) and the United States Department of Agriculture – Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service – Plant Protection and Quarantine (USDA-APHIS-PPQ). The objective is to visually survey for the agricultural pest spotted lanternfly, Lycorma delicatula, and to perform mitigation work on affected properties.
Summary Statement
One seasonal position from approximately May 2024 through November 2024 with a possible extension. Technicians will work as part of a team to accomplish the daily operations of the DDA Spotted Lanternfly Survey and Control program. Duties will include inspecting trees on public and private property for spotted lanternfly, identifying and marking trees for treatment, assisting with the application of insecticides and herbicides on qualifying properties to manage spotted lanternfly, conducting post-treatment follow-up inspections, collecting survey and inspection data, and maintaining daily records of work completed.
