Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

The RN staff nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Del Sol Medical Center and the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and coordinates treatment plans

What qualifications you will need:

• EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)

  1. Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing

  LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  1. RN licensed in State of Texas

  2. Specialty certification/training as appropriate

  3. BCLS certification

  4. ACLS/NALS/PALS training as appropriate

  EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:

  Prefer health care experience.

  Previous Hemodialysis Experience preferred.

  SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skills necessary to understand and transfer physician’s orders.

  2. Ability to move in excess of 100 pounds, with assistance from other staff

  3. Effective communication skills; both orally and written.

  4. Computer skills needed.

  5. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.

  6. Strong problem-solving skills.
