Position Details

Job Grade: 11 ($69,632 - $85,998)

Classification: Salary (Exempt); Full-Time 

Department: Accounting and Finance

Schedule: M-F 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 

Location: Delaware, OH; Olentangy Campus

Summary of Responsibilities

Develop deep understanding of water utility and related industries with specific in-depth knowledge of Del-Co Water operations. Apply strategic vision towards preparing and delivering actionable financial information to Del-Co departmental and business leaders. Consistently apply energy and intellectual tenacity in analyzing data and supporting CFO in leadership of financial reporting and general accounting activities. Show ability to work independently with minimal direction.

Essential Duties

• Lead the financial analysis and financial reporting functions for the company. Includes standard month-end and recurring reporting packages and financial based regulatory and compliance reporting. Assist CFO and Accounts Payable (AP) team with month-end and year-end period closings applying sound Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Active role in execution and support of outside auditors in execution of year-end audit work. 
• Ability to independently identify business trends and develop reporting and analysis to astutely analyze business question. 
• Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to understand business performance and trends. 
• Collaborate with other business department leads ensuring financial analysis is performed for relevant business issues. 
• Drive efficiency in the financial department by identifying technological enhancements. 
• Ability to develop reports and present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Identify KPI’s and process flow improvements and determine how to manage the data to make confident data driven decisions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the job duties successfully. 

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. 
• MBA or CPA or pursuit there-of is preferred.
• 2 years of public accounting or industry experience required. 
• Exceptional verbal, written and technology-based communications skills required.
• Organized, detail oriented, and proven ability to work independently along with proven ability to work cohesively with CFO.
• Comprehensive, in-depth math and business acumen skills required.
• Must be proficient and exhibit ability to quickly adapt, learn and progressively move forward new technologies & related processes including application of Microsoft Windows Office and all utilized business technology systems.
• Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
