Dekko is Hiring a Cost Accountant Near Fort Wayne, IN

DEKKO HQ is adding a Cost Accountant to the team in Fort Wayne.

This role involves collaboration with various departments to ensure accurate accounting, cost analysis, and financial reporting related to manufacturing operations. Managing tight deadlines and multiple accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year end audit preparation and supports budgeting and forecast activities for manufacturing operations.

What You’ll Do:

Cost/Variance Analysis:

  • Analyze and evaluate costs associated with manufacturing, production, and other business activities. Conduct regular cost reviews to identify variances and discrepancies between budgeted and actual costs.
  • Investigate and analyze variances between standard and actual costs.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and report on inventory levels, ensuring accurate valuation and reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with inventory control to minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Work closely with Mexico Customs to support IMMEX software.
  • Assist with physical inventories, prepare reconciliations and work with outside Auditors.

Financial Reporting, Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Prepare and present regular financial reports specific to manufacturing operations.
  • Provide insights into financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

Cost Estimation:

  • Collaborate with procurement, production, engineering, sales, and other departments to gather cost-related information.
  • Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for new products, projects, and services.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of cost estimates, assumptions, and methodologies.
  • Provide regular reports on cost estimation accuracy and variance analysis.

Costing Systems:

  • Implement and maintain cost estimating systems and tools.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in cost estimation methodologies.
  • Analyze historical cost data and industry trends to inform the cost estimation process.
  • Utilize statistical methods and financial modeling to enhance accuracy.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Be detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  • Have strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Be adaptable to change and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using accounting software, MS Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to travel domestic and international as required.
  • Experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • 1-3 Years experience in related field
