Paver Operator Position Overview

Operates asphalt paving machine to spread and smooth asphalt per individual job requirements

Paver Operator Responsibilities

• Operate paver and other heavy equipment safely and appropriately for varied conditions and situations
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks, cleaning, and greasing, etc.
• Preheat screed and monitor temperatures
• Operate paver controls for screed, hopper, paver navigation
• Carefully align paver for asphalt dump and regulate constant flow into the hoper, safely push trucks
• Control direction and speed of paver to eliminate voids and uneven distribution

Paver Operator Requirements

• Advanced understanding of the paving process
• 1 Year previous paving operator experience 
• Must be dependable and show up for all assigned shifts
• Able and willing to work outdoors in extreme heat and cold for extended shifts
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required
• Must have reliable transportation in most cases
