What You’ll Do:

The Director of Engineering is responsible for driving technical execution of Munchkin’s portfolio of products from concept through production ensuring performance, cost, quality, and schedule adherence. This role will direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects and lead a team of engineers to design, debug, and manufacture products.

  • Support the Sr. Director, leads the NPD engineering and drive the new product development process
  • Develop and implement product development strategies, in alignment with business objectives, to deliver high-quality, cost-effective products that drive sales growth
  • Involved in product development efforts on large portfolio of new products ranging from electronics to plastics to soft-goods by developing, designing, and translating product concept to a defined product
  • Plan and implements engineering projects, including defining the project philosophy, activities, and milestones, per customer requirements, including costing objectives
  • Ensure the right engineering resources are applied to projects using resource management tools
  • Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications
  • Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems
  • Build a network of global resources from within Pentair and with outside partners
  • Collaborate across functions and regions to ensure that stakeholders have input, buy-in, and support of NPD projects
  • Determine NPD policies and procedures consistent with business objectives and implement
  • Develop and utilizes performance metrics for all areas of direct responsibility to maintain alignment of NPD team performance and business goals
  • Keep up to date with consumer, customer, and technology trends to create engineering and product development strategies

Bring It!

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, design, or electrical engineering, master’s degree preferred; MBA is a plus
  • 12 years of experience (including CPG) with new product development, project management techniques
  • 8 years of electrical or mechanical CPG engineering leadership and management experience.
  • Engineering Experience with electronics and tech devices / components highly preferred
  • Expert knowledge across the whole process of developing products from the concept phase through to development, regulatory approval, production, and launch
  • Expert business understanding and knowledge within the entire product lifecycle
  • In depth knowledge within the industry including quality requirements and regulatory requirements
  • Effective leadership and people management skills. Ability to lead, manage, train and coach others and facilitate the transfer of knowledge. Willingness to provide and accept constructive feedback to further continuous improvement and development of people.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Salary range: $140,000-$185,000 (DOE)
