This position is part-time; 2 shifts are available, a total 16 hours. 11pm – 7am

The Security Officer’s job duties and responsibilities are to include, but are not limited to:

· Respond to all guest and hotel requests and emergency situations in a timely and professional manner.

· To interact with all guests and employees in a congenial and sincere manner and conduct all actions professionally and confidentially.

· To patrol and inspect property grounds as scheduled, promptly reporting all irregularities, hazardous conditions, and suspicious occurrences.

· To operate the gate system at entrance of property in a friendly, informative, and sincere manner.

· To enforce, while on duty, all company policies, and city, county, state, and federal laws, and ordinances.

· Maintain orderly and safe conduct of all guests and employees while on premises.

· Perform daily lock-up and safety procedures, as directed, in all designated areas.

· Understand and respond to all guests needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.

· Perform monthly inventories of Security equipment, including flashlights, reporting documents, and key count, reporting any shortages or discrepancies.

· Promptly report any conditions that might hinder Security operations.

· Follow all policies and procedures per hotel guidelines.

· Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.

· Other duties and cross training as assigned by Manger on Duty.

· Must comply with Company’s Appearance and Dress Code policy at all times.

Qualifications

· High School Diploma or GED required

· Strong verbal communication skills in English

· Ability to work in a multi-tasking, fast paced environment

· Demonstrate strong diplomatic and calm customer service skills

· Detail oriented and organizational skills

· Honest, trustworthy, safety-minded, reliable and a team player

· Able to work with little to no supervision

· Ability to work indoors and outdoors as needed

· Ability to overnight, including weekends and holidays

· Previous hospitality experience preferred

Working Conditions

· Spends equal amounts of time indoors and outdoors on daily basis.

· Indoor Conditions: temperature controlled, well-lighted and clean offices, guests’ rooms, public areas; walks on all types of surfaces including, but not limited to: tile, wood, carpet. Some surfaces may be slippery when wet.

· Outdoor Conditions: exposure to varying weather conditions in non-sheltered areas. Walking required on all types of surfaces including, but not limited to: cement, tile, pavement. Some surfaces may be slippery when wet.

· Minimal exposure to hazardous substances and fumes.

· Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens.

Physical Demands

· Stands and walks approximately 50% of shift; Drives and sits approximately 50% of shift.

· Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies in any part of property.

· Bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting required to perform routine job tasks.

· Periodically required to handle and move objects weighing up to 50lbs over short distances.

· Flexibility and good reflexes required to operate electric/gas carts.

· Daily use of stairs.

Impact of Decisions

Decisions that are made by the Security Officer have a direct impact on the safety and sense of well-being of hotel guests and employees, and the security of the property and operations. Poor decisions may result in customer dissatisfaction and loss of revenues due to unprofessional manner, lack of follow through, unsafe/dirty work practices, or improperly handled customer service situations.
