POSITION SUMMARY:
Preform maintenance and repair activities on all building systems and infrastructure.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Uses hand and power tools to make a wide range of repairs to the building and support equipment
• Perform routine preventative maintenance
• Conduct building inspections to ensure systems and equipment remain in good working order
• Change filters, belts and lubricate parts
• Perform light plumbing and electrical troubleshooting and repair
• Responsible for coordinating with other departments for scheduled shut downs and preventative maintenance of critical systems
• Ensuring that the facility is well kept. Making certain that all areas are presentable to the public and our employees.
• Patches and paints drywall
• Change light bulbs and ceiling tiles as required
• Respond and address work order requests from the employee population
• Maintain Facility related records
• Schedule work with outside contracts and vendors as required
• Participate in the Facilities on-call rotation
• Specific duties may vary depending upon departmental requirements
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma
• Minimum 5 years related Facilities experience
• Prior experience in the Life Science industry preferred
• A demonstrated level of consistency in performance and aptitude for managing additional responsibility and accountability are required for next level consideration
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Strong knowledge of building systems and industry accepted maintenance practices is required
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to prioritize tasks and shift priorities quickly
• Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
o Effectively communicate issues/problems and results that impact timelines, accuracy and status of project initiatives
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Excel
• Must have general knowledge of electrical, HVAC, fire and water systems, building repairs and housekeeping procedures
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected including the ability to multi-task and work productively in a demanding customer service environment with changing priorities
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• This position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information
• The ability to lift 50 pounds and to be able to stand, walk and stretch for extended periods of time is required
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is fast-paced and involves the ability to quickly change priorities and multi-task while maintaining a professional demeanor.
