The D.S. Chen Health and Wellness Center serves the Deerfield Academy community and we are seeking a Registered Nurse to fulfill a non-benefited, temporary assignment. Needs include days and evening shifts.

Primary responsibilities: Within our licensed clinic and 12-bed infirmary provide appropriate, individual health care and education to students which includes triaging injuries, active management of sports injuries, assessment and treatment of both outpatients and inpatients, and psychotropic medications administration; maintain a high level of nursing care by following professional nursing standards and written protocols, policies, and procedures, and utilize nursing knowledge and assessment; maintain confidentiality; and a professional and compassionate approach towards students, their families, faculty, staff, and all others involved with the health and well-being of the student.

Qualifications include: Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited school required; Bachelor’s degree preferred; two years clinical nursing experience, preferably with adolescents in a health care setting; valid Massachusetts nursing license; current BLS certification; ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; ability to work with a wide range of people in a diplomatic and professional manner; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; experience with MS Office and electronic health records systems; ability to manage, and sensitivity to highly confidential information; ability to multi-task effectively; strong attention to detail; and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
