Deer Mountain Day Camp is seeking a seasonal Program Coordinator to assist with the Camp’s Director in overseeing the camp’s program. The Program Coordinator will:

• Generate and troubleshoot camper and staff weekly schedules
• Inventory and allocate program related supplies
• Assist with the preparation and execution of daily camper line-up, lunch-time and special event activities
• Assist with researching and securing supplies should needs come up during the summer
• Support the Program Specialists as needed

The Program Coordinator is:

• A recent or seasoned college graduate with prior camp experience and a background in Education, Event Planning, Hospitality or Recreation
• Extremely organized and is a master with details
• Enjoys being a jack of all trades, managing backend operations logistics, event preparation and communicating with a team of people
• Comfortable researching prices and negotiating with vendors if needed
• Enjoys a fast paced, creative environment

We are looking for candidate who is available to work starting in May.

Pre-Camp Hours in May and June:

• Monday-Friday, 9 am to 5 pm (can discuss starting part-time)
• Two Days of required Staff Training on Saturdays in June

Camp Dates:

• 2024 Camp Dates: Thursday, June 27th to Thursday, August 22nd
• Monday - Friday Hours: 7:45 am to 5:00 pm
• Daily Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks provided

Deer Mountain Day Camp is located in Pomona, NY at the base of the Ramapo Mountains. We have a 25 acre campus that features a stream fed lake, 5 pools, 4 tennis courts, zip lines, aerial adventure elements, 3 softball fields, two soccer fields, a football field, full size hockey rink and 25 indoor buildings that serve as camper bunks and home to our arts and stem programs. We are a town away from Woodcliff Lake, Mahwah, Montvale and Suffern and 25 minutes from the George Washington Bridge. We serve campers ranging in age from 3 to 15 who come from Rockland, Bergen, Hudson, Orange and Westchester Counties and New York City.

Deer Mountain staff members come from all the different areas we serve. Our team is full of fun, creative and kind educators, sports coaches, artists and camp professionals who love the impact that a summer camp can have on adults and children. You will love coming to camp each day.

Our Division Leaders and instructors are college graduates who specialize in the areas they lead and our counselor staff is composed of rising high school seniors, college students and some graduate students.
