Traveling Retail Décor & Signage Finisher

Description

A Traveling Retail Décor and Signage Finisher is responsible for the on-site installation of signage and décor for our retail partners across the country. This role requires basic site survey skills, the ability to read and interpret engineering spec sheets and installation instructions, familiarity with hand-tools, power tools and hardware, and a positive attitude. This team member will take instruction from the project lead or senior install tech and cooperate with the install team to ensure each project’s success. When not assigned to an install, this team member will assist as needed in Manufacturing departments under the oversight of the Manufacturing Director.

The Finisher must be able to travel nationally for weeks at a time and work any shift to satisfy the demand for flexibility of scheduling to ensure operational success. This includes, but is not limited to, day shifts, night shifts and/or weekend shifts. This team member is a full-time employee of Rainbow Sign & Design and Decorworx. The Finisher reports to the Install Director.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of fabrication and installation techniques using a variety of adhesives and hardware
  • Working knowledge of current technology and hand/power tools as they relate to install
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move up to 50 lbs or greater) and handle large bulky materials
  • Valid DL and a clean driving record
  • Must pass drug tests
  • Certified on all fabrication and install equipment within 60-days of employment
  • Ability to travel nationally
  • Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends
  • Flexible with an ever-evolving scope of work
  • Ability to read and understand engineered spec sheets, install layouts/360s and paint plans
  • Display effective understanding of design principles and techniques
  • Ability to complete assigned work within defined time frames to meet deadlines
  • Basic customer service skills
  • Must treat team members, partners, and vendors with respect and conduct all business with integrity
  • Ability to take instruction from project leads and senior finishers
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written in English

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install assigned products for all projects and partners within a retail space or job site
  • Follow the directions and instructions given by the project lead and/or senior finisher to ensure project success
  • Ensure install quality and professionalism standards set by the project lead and/or senior finisher are consistently met
  • Complete all assignments in a timely manner within parameters set by the project lead and/or senior finisher
  • Conduct self professionally while on the job to represent the company in a positive manner
  • Maintain regular communication with team members and project lead and/or senior finisher as to assignments and project statuses
  • Document accurate information related to project tracking on designated platforms, as assigned
  • Correctly interpret design and engineering specs and install the product to the partners’ expectations
  • Strive for quality, precision, and accuracy – CRAFTSMANSHIP
  • Identify and resolve any issues in a professional and effective manner to ensure a positive outcome
  • Aid in project planning by understanding the wants and needs of our partner and suggesting applications that serve them best
  • Get partner sign-off on successful project completion, as assigned
  • When not assigned to an install project, team member must be prepared to work in Manufacturing departments as assigned by the Director, such as Assembly, Wood, Paint, Shipping/Receiving, etc.
  • Progressive knowledge of industry materials and their applications
  • Ongoing learning about trade/role and company practices
  • Participate and engage in company meetings & trainings to help create synergy and a positive work environment, as well as collect information pertinent to projects and installs
  • Follow all procedures and protocols listed in the Team Member Handbook
