Maintenance Technician
JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
HOURS/SHIFT: Full Time, 40 hours/week; on-call requirement
POSITION SUMMARY: Keeps hospital, business office, clinics, and hospital property in clean and orderly condition and tends furnace, air conditioner, and boiler to provide heat, cool air, and hot water by performing the essential duties defined in the job description.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LICENSURE/REGISTRY/CERTIFICATION: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily maintenance of all the buildings, communication systems, and fixed equipment.
- Coordinates daily building and equipment inspections to identify routine maintenance and any immediate needed repair.
- Ensures that the exterior and interior conditions of the hospital and grounds are maintained at a good operating level based on the resources provided.
- Works with Supervisor recommending replacement of facilities and/or equipment when repair is no longer effective or economical.
- Performs minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
- Replaces air conditioner filters.
- Notifies management concerning the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
- Cleans snow and debris from sidewalk.
- Coordinates and documents safety inspections for all required equipment including boilers and the elevator.
- Ensures all new equipment is evaluated to ensure adequacy of utilities to support the equipment.
