Maintenance Technician

The Decatur County Family is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our YMCA Team.

Pay & Hours

$16 -$22 per hour; 20-25 hours per week

Job Description

This position is primarily responsible for the facility’s functionality, maintenance of equipment and safety. This position is crucial to our Team’s success.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.

Knowledge of and experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical repair, pool and other maintenance related areas.

Proficiency in the safe and proper use of power equipment, hand tools and chemicals.

Ability to report and record maintenance requests

Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals and other documents.

Ability to work well with others, including staff and members.

Physical Demands:

· Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties.

· Ability to erect and stand on ladders and platforms.

· Ability to assist in essential maintenance to facility or equipment which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: semi-reaching to full-reach overhead; crouching; kneeling; shoveling; carrying; working in narrow and/or confining spaces; twisting of the waist, shoulders and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back.

Essential Functions

Inspects buildings, equipment and systems to identify any issues.

Performs routine maintenance throughout the facility.

Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and systems per designated schedule. Performs quarterly filter changes.

Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains fitness equipment.

Assists with large maintenance repairs and projects.

Responsible for handling emergency facility equipment calls.

Certifications

CPO certification Preference
