Dearing Compressor is Hiring a Mechanical Engineer (ASME Vessels) Near Youngstown, OH

Summary

The Vessel Engineer designs, models, and provides technical support to users of Dearings engineered products. Recipients of this support shall include Dearing production, field service personnel, 3rd party design firms and/or end users (customers). The Vessel Engineer is responsible for ensuring units satisfy the applicable codes and customer specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review customer specifications.
  • Generate, review, and approve ASME vessel drawings.
  • Run ASME code calculations utilizing COMPRESS software.
  • Generate, review, and approve vessel bill of materials.
  • Work with vendors to source, review and approve equipment needed for projects.
  • Interact with customers and 3rd party design firms on drawing approvals.
  • Participate in project design reviews, standards reviews, and engineering meetings.
  • Provide support to supply chain department.
  • Provide technical support to production, field service, 3rd party design firms and end users, assisting with problems encountered in production and in the field.
  • Participate in customer visits, shop tours, test, and conference calls.
  • Work with quality control providing support and documentation for in-process and completed units.
  • Carry out Responsible Charge duties, as required by ASME.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. 2 to 4 years of related experience preferred.
