Dean’s Professional Services is now hiring an experienced and qualified Pharmacist to work for a hospital facility in Austin, TX.

Pharmacists are responsible for promoting pharmaceutical care by managing the medication process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving actual drug-related problems. Additionally, to perform the duties of a registered pharmacist as defined by the Hospital. All responsibilities will be performed in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-adult).

Job Responsibilities:

• Follow patient safety systems according to established guidelines
• Ensure the appropriateness of all medication doses and that medication prescriptions are processed and dispensed within established guidelines
• Follow aseptic technique and infection control in the preparation of sterile products
• Maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies per par level or patients’ needs
• Ensure the smooth running of the area and act as a role model for pharmacy technicians and other pharmacists
• Exhibit leadership in coordinating on-line activities including technician workload, managerial duties, and shift transition
• Participate in the education of patients, family, and/or caregivers
• Maintain patient confidentiality

Job Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree or Ph.D in Pharmacy required
• RPH certification from the state of Texas required
• Compounding experience required.
• 2 years hospital staff pharmacist experience preferred
• 40 hours of training in compounding sterile products accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists preferred
• Medication knowledge base, knowledge of pediatrics, and proper handling of hazardous substances
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with co-workers, leaders, nurses, and physicians
• Must be able to work under pressure and work closely with others continuously throughout the day

Job Details:

• Schedule-Full time-candidate will be working between 6:30a - 7:30p / Variable 10-12 Hr. Shift / Variable Night Shift and Weekend Rotation 
• Salary- starting at $58/hour (based on experience)
