Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our team. As an Optometrist, you will provide comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages. Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and refractive status
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions and diseases
- Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer any questions or concerns
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in optometry and incorporate new techniques into practice
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of optometric principles, practices, and procedures
- Proficient in conducting comprehensive eye examinations
- Experience in senior care optometry is highly desirable
- Familiarity with optical equipment and instruments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport with patients of all ages
- Sales skills to effectively recommend eyewear options to patients
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems (Epic) for efficient documentation
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding for accurate billing
Requirements:
- Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited school of optometry
- Valid state license to practice optometry
- Successful completion of the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) exams
