DCM is Hiring a Facilities Maintenance Tech- Job ID 1058949 Near Washington, DC

The shift for this role is Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm.

We are a high-quality medical cannabis manufacturer seeking motivated and accountable team players to join our production team!

Facilities Maintenance Tech:

Our Facilities Maintenance Tech will be primarily responsible for assisting the General Manager in the operation of the facility as it relates to its maintenance, repairs, cleaning, modifications, construction projects and their completion in a timely, safe, fiscally responsible manner.

Your role in caring for our products:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Facilities Maintenance Tech:

  • Oversee building and grounds maintenance
  • Ensure that the facility is clean, organized, and maintained according to company policy and procedures
  • Ensure proper operation of facilities systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs by following instruction and utilizing operations manuals
  • Performs basic facility and equipment maintenance and cleaning
  • Monitors and manages cleanliness of facility
  • Schedules and is first point of contact for subcontractors
  • Assist General Manager with ensuring that contract services work meets specified results to minimize future operational problems by inspecting completed work and reporting failure to meet contract specifications
  • Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly
  • Ensure that all tasks are performed correctly, efficiently, and effectively
  • Conduct and documents regular facilities inspections
  • Recommend both proactive and reactive maintenance, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facility design modifications.
  • Effectively plan and schedule daily/weekly preventive maintenance activities while continually developing long term plans
  • Communicate workplace safety precautions to employees
  • Perform some janitorial duties such as taking out municipal trash, cleaning of bathrooms, breakrooms, and common areas
  • Unloading and distributing large deliveries and shipments
  • Conducting inventory of facility consumable materials
  • Performing monthly fire extinguisher inspections, and replace units when needed
  • Contributes to the overall success of the facilities by performing other essential duties as assigned

Qualifications we ask you to have:

  • For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age.
  • You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
  • We ask that you have at least a high school diploma/GED.
  • Because you will be driving to multiple locations, you will need to have a valid driver's license.
  • Experience in the maintenance field in a professional/management capacity.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Reliable transportation to work.
  • We ask that you be available to work after normal business hours as it pertains to longer delivery routes if and when necessary.
  • We ask that you have experience handling vendors, contractors, and installations
  • We ask that you have experience in equipment repair and installations
  • Having an OSHA certification is preferred.

  • Desire and ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Flexibility to accommodate scheduling demands including some weekends and applicable holidays.
  • Please have personal accountability, proactive behaviors, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to operate vehicle in a safe and secure manner.
  • Ability and willingness to ensure all tasks are performed correctly, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Excellent observational skills.
  • Authoritative verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
  • Please have the ability and willingness to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
  • We ask that you have experience with inspection, predictive and preventive maintenance, planning, execution, root cause failure analysis and improvements
  • Experience with fire extinguisher training a plus
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability in planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing a Maintenance Department.
  • Compliance with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers.

  • This position requires standing, stooping, squatting, or crouching for more than 4 hours sequentially.
  • This position will be working both indoors and outdoors year-round, often times for extensive periods of time.
