DCI, a leading company in the furniture industry, is seeking an experienced Advanced Woodworker. The successful candidate will be well-versed in all aspects of furniture production, with a keen understanding of various furniture products and build techniques. This role involves repairing defects in production furniture during and after manufacture, as well as training other employees in proper quality and woodworking techniques. Responsibilities

• Inspect work pieces visually for defects and non-conformities to standards.
• Make informed decisions regarding the disposition of each piece.
• Repair surface defects such as rough edges, nicks, open seams, cracks, blisters, and excess glue.
• Trim and smooth rough edges and surfaces using hand tools and machines such as the stroke sander.
• Re-glue defective joints.
• Train production employees on proper woodworking techniques.
• Follow all applicable Quality Procedures.
• Complete all paperwork required for the job accurately and promptly.

Qualifications

• 5 or more years experience in woodworking and furniture production.
• Proficiency in using assorted furniture making hand tools and measuring devices such as hand drills, screw guns, hammers, calipers, rulers, etc.
• Experience with simple woodworking machines.
• Ability to read and comprehend job-related paperwork.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
