DCG Communications is Hiring an Accountant (Federal Contracting) Near Washington, DC

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Senior Accountant will play a vital role in collaborating closely with the Operations team to oversee and support all facets of DCG's financial operations. This includes but is not limited to, ensuring compliance with full-cycle government contract accounting standards. We seek a candidate with recent and prior experience in this specialized area, as well as a solid understanding of GAAP and familiarity with various federal contract types.

Duties associated with this role may include, but are not limited to:

  • Extensive use of QuickBooks, Nexonia timekeeping, and Excel in a DCAA compliant environment for all functions within the finance department.
  • Setting up projects and employees in all systems and assigning the appropriate CLINS/LCATS, hours, and rates to each employee using cost and pricing data from contracts and detailed price proposals.
  • Aid in creating and submitting contract invoices into Wide Area Workflow and all other government submission platforms and monitor A/R reports weekly to ensure timely payment. Collections efforts as needed.
  • Validate and enter A/P for various contracts, task orders, and general operations of the company.
  • Support bi-monthly payroll process to include employee reimbursements, compensation and benefits changes, bonus payments, tracking and updating PTO balances, and more.
  • Assist with monthly closing of the books to include reconciliation of all accounts (bank, payroll, credit cards, etc.), amortization of prepaid expenses, depreciation of fixed assets, posting all revenue and expenses, and other related as directed.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to include balance sheet, income statement, profit & loss by contract, and various others.
  • Provide support for quarterly, annual, and periodic audit requirements.
  • Support RFP and contract process to include assistance with pricing proposals, careful review and interpretation of contracts, and maintaining proper documentation, agreements, and insurance policies on record for subcontractors.
  • Assist with end of year tax documentation to include issuance of 1099 and W2 reports among other tasks as assigned.
  • Support special projects as requested.

Location : At DCG, many of our team members including this role are remote. With over 100 employees based in 28 states (and counting!), DCG is committed to hiring talented employees across the United States. The selected candidate will work during DCGs core Eastern Standard Time business hours.
Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • 5-8 years of experience in full cycle accounting with at least 4 in government contract accounting
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and Clearable
  • Recent and prior work experience in full-cycle government contract accounting
  • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP as well as the various federal contract types
  • Extreme attention to detail, a positive and flexible attitude, and the ability to collaborate across a variety of departments
