About us

DC Way is a Capitol Hill-based, award-winning recreational soccer club that was created with a clear mission and aligned core values in order to teach more than just the fundamentals of soccer whilehaving an absolute blast. Founded in 2013, we have 10 years of experience sharing our love of sports with children.

The goal of our club is to teach children how fun soccer can be! DC Way’s passionate and qualified coaches provide the perfect pressure-free environment for covering all aspects of children's development including physical, mental, social-emotional, and communication. As we constantly evolve, our program adapts to ensure that the magic of the beautiful game never fades for our young players. We are looking to hire motivated, professional, and young individuals to fulfill the position of multi-sport Coach. Coaches will also have the opportunity to work in various programs within DC Way such as after-school, soccer camps, etc if they desire and help us with all sports including flag football, track, basketball, soccer etc.

The main requirements are commitment, professionalism, a love for sports (and teaching), and the ability to connect with youth while coaching. It will require constant studying and self improvement as well as remaining open-minded. This coaching position is available starting immediately. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary to achieve individual and team success.
  • Establish a good working relationship with players, parents/ guardians to communicate the needs of participants to improve the skills.
  • Formulate and model moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence for all athletes.
  • Collect, distribute, and maintain the athletic equipment during the season.
  • Engage children with enthusiasm and good communication.
  • Be patient when children are not as engaged as you would like and maintain friendly atmosphere
  • Grow a passion and a love for sports by delivering excellent training sessions.
  • Comply with all DC Way policies and regulations. Follow all of the established company rules and curriculum pertaining to programs.
  • Commitment to coach multiple sessions per week in various DC locations

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

  • Washington, DC 20002: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Soccer coaching: 1 year (Preferred but not required)
  • Sports Coaching: 1 year (Preferred but not required)
