SUMMARY: 

The Sr. Systems Analyst – ERP System & Controls is part of the Center of Excellence team, a cross functional team of people responsible for developing and managing ERP cloud strategy, applications, data governance and best practices that the rest of the organization can leverage to transform the business. This role plays a key part in defining and communicating the product vision and delivery roadmap of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), Payroll/Time and Labor/Absence Management Applications, Fusion Analytics (Business Intelligence) and Human Capital Management (HCM) platforms. The Sr. Systems Analyst is passionate about the delivery of best-in-class ERP capabilities, improving the value and benefits of the platform to meet organizational goals. The Sr. Systems Analyst will coordinate with key collaborators to inform the product vision, backlog prioritization and delivery releases and to be responsible for the product life cycle of the ERP platform.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Partners with business leadership to support the overall performance of the system, supporting vision and initiatives of the Center of Excellence team, establishing goals, and reporting achievement progress.
  • Identifies, coordinates, and resolves system issues by working with DC Water Business, IT, Managed Care Services, and software vendor’s support center.
  • Initiates and actively participates in projects related to improvements and automation of various business processes in Finance/Procurement/Payroll applications and develops cost/benefit analyses in support of system initiatives.
  • Collaborates with management as needed and keeps management updated on the status of projects. Decision making involves problems that require research, analysis, and evaluation of multiple variables.
  • Evaluates and recommends changes to current and future ERP System configuration and introduces new financial reporting/processing tools to meet organizational needs.
  • Creates business requirements, user test scenarios, test data, test plans and design documents for the enhancements and new projects related to ERP/EPM/Payroll/Fusion-Data Analytics systems/Data Warehouse.
  • Facilitates the creation of reports using the OTBI (Oracle Transaction Business Intelligence) and other reporting tools provided by Oracle cloud ERP applications.
  • Ability to learn any new reporting tools introduced by DCW.
  • Assists business leads with the resolution of any day-to-day issues related to ERP business processes.
  • Actively assists with change management process that pro-actively identifies system changes and incorporates an appropriate impact analysis and approval for such changes across the ERP/EPM/Fusion Analytics/Payroll system management/owners.
  • Closely works with the system end-users by providing/facilitating necessary training, support and troubleshooting. Collects user input regarding system functionality and explores feasibility of potential improvements/enhancements to the system configurations.
  • Assists in managing and tracking management letters and/or corrective action plans resulting from the internal/external audits or contracted internal control reviews; and collaborates with internal/external auditors to achieve the organizational mission and objectives.
  • Performs a variety of self-directed and management directed tasks.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Exhibits business acumen and strength in relating to people, delivers feedback, inspires, and motivates others to succeed.
  • Interacts with employees and management at all levels and maintains ongoing communications with external and internal auditors and consultants.

Payroll Applications and Data Analytics (Reports, Data Warehouse and Data Migrations):

  • Actively participates in projects related to improvements and automation of various business processes related to Payroll, Time and Labor and Absence Management applications.
  • Plays key role for the implementation and maintenance of Data Analytics (Business Intelligence)/Data Warehouse project and develops cost/benefit analyses in support of these initiatives.
  • Actively works on gathering requirements and testing related to Dashboards, KPIs, Summary Reports and Data Migrations related to ERP, EPM and HCM applications. 
  • Analyze and perform tests on all software development life cycle for oracle cloud Payroll applications and Fusion Analytics (Business Intelligence) according to business requirements and prepare solutions to provide end user support.
  • Maintain and update knowledge on KPIs, Dashboard Reports, Summary Reports, Oracle ERP Applications and perform tests on all new releases and patches.
  • Maintain documentation for application maintenance and change control management; and prepare data for software development cycle and prepare solutions for all enhancements.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE & OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability necessary for an individual to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable amounts of training are provided.

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or Information Technology (or related field) from an accredited college/university, and five (5) years of hands-on experience in systems implementation or support, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An advanced degree and/or professional certification in information technology/business/accounting fields is a plus. 
  • Understanding of financial and accounting methods and leading a team in alignment with organizational goals. 
  • Experience with Business process & design, implementation or assessment across finance, supply chain and human resource business cycles. 
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills are required.
  • Excellent technical skills that include a general knowledge of ERP systems, and the ability to manage and control highly technical financial information through applicable software is required (i.e., spreadsheets, databases, presentations, etc.).
  • Preferred experience with Advanced Excel Modeling, Data Modeling & Business Intelligence Reporting Tools.
  • Working knowledge or Training of Oracle Cloud ERP (Financials or Procurement or Payroll or Budgeting/EPM) system is highly desirable.
  • Operates with considerable latitude and independence, is highly self-directed and self-motivated. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
